INSTRUCTORSThe instructors are very important in our Studio and range in age and ability. Today, we have two main instructors, Mr. Ronald Kidd and Mrs. Bevelye Kanneg. We have been open for business at 5145 Ming Avenue since February 5th, 2001 and continually train additional instructors for the Bakersfield area.
Our Certified Chief Instructor is Ronald Kidd who has been involved with Taekwondo since 1994. He has been actively teaching ATA Taekwondo since achieving Black Belt status in 1996. Mr. Kidd served our country in the Marine Corps for 22 years and retired in 2000 as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He lives in Bakersfield, is a Fourth Degree Certified Black Belt and is working on earning his 5th Degree. Our Certified Senior Instructor is Mrs. Bevelye Kanneg. At the young age of 74, Mrs. Kanneg began her Taekwondo experience at the age of 54. She has been nationally ranked No. 3 in the world and No. 1 in California, in her age group, and is a major inspiration to many, many people. The ATA has recognized her contribution to the martial arts in various articles of The Way Magazine (a quarterly publication of the ATA). As one of the oldest Certified Instructors in the ATA, she has attained the rank of FIFTH Degree Black Belt (obtained in June 2003!) and is now working on her Sixth Degree. Mrs. Kanneg lives in Bakersfield with her husband of over 50 years, Bob Kanneg (who happens to be the General Manager of the studio). ATA Bakersfield - Services and Programs |
